UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in Carrboro, North Carolina.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and inclusive organization with a mission to improve the health and well-being of diverse communities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of clinical activities in the UNCHCS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
- Assist with bone marrow collection and perform complex specialty testing.
- Work closely with clinical teams and pathologists to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Monitor daily laboratory operations and participate in quality control and equipment maintenance.
- Report results to healthcare providers and consult with them regarding test results.
- Train new employees and serve as a technical resource.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in a relevant field.
- MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification.
- Two years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, medical laboratory technician, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level.
