Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our Foster Care and Adoption team as a Recruitment and Retention Specialist. This role is responsible for recruiting and retaining quality foster and adoptive families in western Iowa, with a focus on increasing diversity and representation among our families.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit and engage potential foster and adoptive families through various outreach and engagement strategies
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, including faith-based organizations, schools, and community groups
- Collaborate with LSI's Marketing and Communications team to leverage expertise and amplify recruitment efforts
- Lead a mentor program for foster parents, providing support and guidance to help them navigate the foster care system
- Engage current foster and adoptive families to assist with family-to-family recruitment and raise awareness about the need for more foster and adoptive families in Iowa
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, human resource management, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in child welfare services, with a focus on recruitment and retention
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a good driving record
- Ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry, and criminal history check
