Senior Engineering Program Manager for Machine Learning Compute Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Program Manager to join our Machine Learning Platform & Technology (MLPT) team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing cross-functional partnerships with all of Apple's ML partners to understand their use cases and improve the ease of use of our compute services.
You will collaborate with our engineering teams to define a partnership strategy across the entire ML ecosystem, including 3rd party public cloud, Apple's internal cloud, silicon vendors, and OSS providers. Your expertise in distributed computing, large scale cloud infrastructure, and GPU/TPU usage for ML training will be invaluable in driving the success of our ML Compute Platform.
Responsibilities- Establish cross-functional partnerships with Apple's ML partners to understand their use cases and improve the ease of use of our compute services.
- Collaborate with our engineering teams to define a partnership strategy across the entire ML ecosystem.
- Drive the development of our ML Compute Platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our ML partners and customers.
- Work with best-in-class engineering teams and developers across Apple to design efficient technologies that accelerate the ML lifecycle.
- Be the trusted advisor to our customers, deeply understanding their needs and helping deliver low-cost, high-performance solutions that meet their use cases and business outcomes.
- 5+ years of Product and/or technical program management experience covering distributed computing, large scale cloud infrastructure, GPU/TPU usage for ML training, software and computing architectures, container stack, and networking.
- Experience in working with large scale GPU based AI applications, like Natural Language Processing and Recommendation, for training and inference or direct experience in building or managing cloud computing infrastructure and technologies.
- Proficiency in multitasking and leading sophisticated programs with cross-functional teams, with a track record in developing and bringing outstanding platforms to market.
- 5+ years of work experience in Product/Program and/or solutions architecture or developer roles.
- MS/PhD in EE, CS, Math, or Physics or equivalent work experience.
- Highly developed drive to improve how things work, with a proven track record of driving dramatic improvements for team quality, performance, agility, or effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap along with the ability to deliver and execute.
- Strong desire to learn, skills for problem solving, and the ability to make sophisticated trade-offs.
- Experience driving technical partnerships with internal and external cloud, software partners.
- Knowledge of computer systems and cloud infrastructure architecture.
- Familiarity with AI frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch or MxNet) and/or GPU development experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to explain sophisticated technical topics to non-experts.
