Position Overview:

Our firm is seeking a motivated and experienced Permanent Attorney specializing in Banking & Finance, particularly in Low-Income Housing. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to our community.

The ideal candidate will provide legal guidance and services to clients in banking and finance law, focusing on low-income housing tax credits and commercial finance law. This position combines intricate legal work with community engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal advice to clients in the banking and finance sector, emphasizing low-income housing.
  • Analyze and apply laws, court rulings, and other legal sources to prepare legal opinions, briefs, and cases.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex loan documents, agreements, and contracts related to banking, finance, and low-income housing projects.
  • Advise on the structuring, formation, and operation of various affordable housing transactions, including those involving low-income housing tax credits.
  • Represent clients in regulatory matters and disputes related to banking and finance law.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a broad spectrum of banking and finance issues.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services to clients.
  • Stay informed on current laws, regulations, and industry trends in banking and finance law and low-income housing.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in banking and finance law, with a focus on low-income housing tax credits and commercial finance law.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state laws and regulations related to banking and finance, and low-income housing.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to serving low-income communities and promoting affordable housing initiatives.
