About the Role:

Duke University is seeking a skilled Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our team in the EEG department. As a Neurodiagnostic Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform one of the following END studies: EEG or Evoked Potentials.
  • Explain testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate language.
  • Accurately take and document pertinent histories from patients or charts.
  • Set up patients for appropriate studies, including equipment and paperwork.
  • Run studies with proper documentation, observation of patients, and troubleshooting equipment and physiological artifacts.
  • Recognize and respond to evolving patient care needs.
  • Demonstrate proper cleaning procedures for patients, rooms, and equipment after each study.
  • Utilize downtime for training, cleaning equipment, and reading educational materials.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in neurodiagnostic technology or a related field.
  • Direct patient care experience or non-patient care healthcare, laboratory, or research experience.
  • Registry/certification in one modality of Neurodiagnostic Technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 certification in Neurodiagnostic Technology.
  • Experience in EEG, Evoked Potentials, or Epilepsy Monitoring.
