Job Summary

As a Computerized Tomography Technologist at The University of Chicago Medicine, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical imaging technology. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team in the CT Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging studies as assigned, applying principles of radiation protection and exercising professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures.
  • Position patients to ensure proper image capture and select technical factors to achieve optimal results.
  • Utilize computer systems to record patient status and maintain technical imaging equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Assist physicians in performing imaging studies and prepare contrast media for administration to patients.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment or housekeeping issues to the appropriate personnel and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
  • Current registry by ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
  • Advanced CT certification required (open to new graduates).
  • Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA) and CPR training required.

Working Conditions

  • Job Type/FTE: Full-Time, 1.00FTE.
  • Shift: FT 11am-7:30pm, 5pm-3:30am, or 9pm-7:30am; PT 11am-7:30pm; Registry.
  • Unit/Department: Rad CT-Hyde Park.
  • CBA Code: Non-Union.
  • No Visa Sponsorship Available.

Additional Requirements

  • Must comply with UCMC's COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment.
  • Pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check required.
