About the Role

California State University, Chico is seeking a highly skilled Credential Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our student services department, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and professional development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to prospective and admitted credential candidates on academic and professional matters.
  • Facilitate student registration and enrollment, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date credential information, including database management, to ensure accurate and timely recommendations.
  • Collaborate with University and school district personnel to facilitate student progress and ensure seamless communication.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and University personnel regarding credentialing requirements, providing clear and concise information.
  • Compile and analyze information, preparing reports as needed, to inform decision-making and drive student success.
  • Conduct outreach activities to promote student engagement and support.
  • Assist with administrative planning and participate in the implementation of creative solutions to support program operations.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
  • Additional specialized experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Successful completion of the trainee capacity (SSP IA) for approximately six months to twelve months (not to exceed twelve months).
  • Equivalent amounts of graduate-level, job-related education may be substituted for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual
  • Prior experience and knowledge about credential programs and PK-12 settings
  • Experience using Chico State systems, databases, and software
