About the Role

California State University, Chico is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Credential Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our student services department, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and professional development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and support to prospective and admitted credential candidates, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the credentialing process and requirements.
  • Facilitate student registration and enrollment, ensuring seamless transitions and timely completion of credential programs.
  • Collaborate with University and school district personnel to facilitate student progress, ensuring alignment with credentialing requirements and academic standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and University personnel, providing timely and effective communication and support.
  • Compile and analyze information, preparing reports as needed to inform credentialing decisions and program development.
  • Conduct outreach activities to promote credential programs and services, ensuring awareness and engagement among students, faculty, and staff.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
  • Additional specialized experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Successful completion of the trainee capacity (SSP IA) for approximately six months to twelve months (not to exceed twelve months).
  • Equivalent amounts of graduate-level, job-related education may be substituted for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual
  • Prior experience and knowledge about credential programs and PK-12 settings
  • Experience using Chico State systems, databases, and software
Work Environment

This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with summer hours from Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm.
