**Job Overview**

This role exists within our perinatal specialty units, working under the direction of Maternal Fetal Medicine staff and/or manager or supervisor. The successful candidate will demonstrate competencies in a variety of OB procedures, performing ultrasound examinations in accordance with AIUM guidelines and protocols.

The incumbent is responsible for providing exceptional patient care, maintaining accurate records, ensuring equipment is in good working order, and completing other duties as assigned. This position requires registration as an RDMS in OB and meeting minimum continuing education requirements of the registry and AIUM as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field
  • BLS certification
  • RDMS OB/GYN
  • Cervical length and Nuchal certification within one year of employment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment and ultrasound protocols to produce high-quality images for interpretation
  • Competently assist with invasive procedures
  • Complete studies accurately and efficiently
  • Exhibit a positive attitude when communicating with physicians, patients, and staff
  • Maintain all necessary certifications and demonstrate continued competence
  • Act as a resource for sonographers, students, and residents in the perinatal units

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently stands, walks, and reaches for objects
  • Occasionally kneels, lifts 11-50 lbs, pulls, pushes, stoops, and uses hands
  • Rarely climbs and lifts over 50 lbs
