We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Primary Care Associates of Appleton LTD. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, utilizing rooming standards and setting up exam rooms accordingly.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
- Administers injections and medications under physician supervision, when applicable.
- Provides patient education and instructions on preparation for tests and procedures.
- Records laboratory, x-ray, and ECG results, as well as other pertinent medical data in patients' charts.
- Handles incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring that physicians receive necessary information.
- Cleans and stocks exam rooms, including monthly instrument cleaning and sterilization.
- Handles patient telephone calls, screens calls to physicians, and relays advice, information, and instructions from physicians.
- Schedules special appointments, assesses and schedules appointments for patients, and completes assigned duties in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates a team spirit through cooperative, supportive professional work relationships.
- Assists with procedures completed by providers and abstracts medical information into the EMR.
- Complies with company policies and procedures, maintains confidentiality of patient information, and performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Credentialed as a CMA or RMA, or eligible to obtain certification within 3 months of hire if new graduate.
- Must maintain current BLS for healthcare certification.
- Computer skills required: payroll system, EPIC software.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy.
- Pleasant and effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with all customers of Primary Care Associates.
- Ability to function as a part of a team with a cooperative attitude.
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently.
- Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have flexibility in work schedule.
