Maintains and repairs equipment, hardware, and building systems for Dallas County facilities. Works under limited supervision to ensure the smooth operation of county buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains building HVAC and automation systems, including air conditioning, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Assists plumbers, electricians, and other personnel with maintenance and repairs.
- Prepares and maintains logs and records of equipment operations, system repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Conducts regular inspections and tests of boilers, cooling towers, and other equipment.
- Reviews and implements preventive maintenance checklists and schedules.
- May act as a lead person on assignments and supervise other maintenance staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and operation of county facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of work-related experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record required.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift weights in excess of 50 pounds and climb ladders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
