As our dedicated and enthusiastic RETAIL SALES AND INVENTORY SPECIALIST, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing a warm greeting and prompt, courteous assistance to all customers and donors.
  • Stocking and preparing priced items for display on the sales floor.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store and donation area, including performing assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Adhering to all POS and cash register policies in line with organizational procedures.
  • Upholding safety and compliance standards.
  • Participating in mandatory monthly store meetings.
  • Receiving, unloading, and accurately stocking incoming inventory.
  • Conducting quality assurance checks by inspecting products for defects and damages.
  • Assisting donors with the removal of donated items from their vehicles and providing receipts.
  • Sorting and separating donated materials into appropriate containers as directed by management.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications for consideration:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to accurately manage POS and cash register operations.
  • Successful completion of a background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.

Physical Demands:
  • Capability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, clothing carts, and other merchandise handling equipment.
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
  • Must be able to execute duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule:Our stores operate seven days a week. Work schedules are determined by management, and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Part-time associates may be scheduled for any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Salvation Army will adhere to all governmental orders and contractual obligations related to COVID-19 safety measures, including any required vaccinations. Requests for exemptions based on religious or medical grounds will be considered when applicable.
