The Parking Services Representative plays a crucial role in facilitating transportation for patients attending outpatient medical appointments. This position involves managing cash and coupon transactions for parking fees, assisting visitors and staff with vehicle-related inquiries, and providing valet services with a focus on safety and professionalism. Accurate documentation of all transactions is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors courteously, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Safely drive guest vehicles to designated parking areas and return them promptly for pick-up.
- Adhere to New Jersey motor vehicle regulations while operating vehicles.
- Provide assistance with wheelchairs and help guests enter and exit vehicles as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle tags, claim numbers, and key storage locations.
- Ensure vehicles are returned in their original condition.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain clear staging areas and smooth traffic flow.
- Direct emergency vehicles and manage pedestrian traffic during emergencies.
- Investigate and report any accidents occurring in valet areas, guiding patrons on next steps.
- Notify security and supervisors of any incidents.
- Transport outpatients between their homes and various departments.
- Complete daily logs for patient pickups and fuel usage as required.
- Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained, addressing gas and repair needs promptly.
- Manage revenue and non-revenue traffic exiting parking facilities.
- Coordinate traffic flow at intersections and pedestrian walkways as necessary.
- Monitor parking equipment and troubleshoot any malfunctions.
- Verify cash deposits and enforce cash handling procedures.
- Assist in collecting wheelchairs and coordinating with guest services.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas at all times.
- Complete risk reports for any unusual events involving patients, visitors, or volunteers.
- Anticipate the needs of diverse patient populations and provide tailored customer service.
- Follow all beginning and end-of-shift procedures to ensure service consistency.
- Adhere to the organizational competencies established by the Medical Center.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bilingual abilities.
- Experience in cash handling.
- Standard driving experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
