Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist V to join our team at Disability Solutions. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex machine tools to produce high-precision parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations.
  • Work from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions to produce parts to exacting tolerances and finish specifications.
  • Self-sufficient with material clamping methods, machine adjustments/offsets, and console settings.
  • May provide training, set-up, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., support to others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a Machining Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understand the use and inspection methods of GD&T constraints.
  • Proficient in use of shop math.
  • Works independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoots basic programming errors such as taper, chatter, and chip control.
  • Proficient in setting up CNC machine.
  • Works to standard in jaw-cutting, bringing a part to size, and inspecting a part for a first piece.
  • Has working knowledge of the relationship between federate and surface finish as well as surface speed to material type.
