Job Summary

The University of Arkansas System is seeking a highly skilled Public Safety Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our public safety department, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to emergency calls, dispatching personnel, and maintaining accurate records of communications.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your communication skills and knowledge of emergency response procedures to ensure the safety of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate computer consoles and communication devices to receive and respond to emergency calls
  • Dispatch public safety officers and other personnel as required
  • Maintain accurate records of communications and incidents
  • Prepare reports and documents as needed
  • Collaborate with emergency services and other departments to ensure effective response to emergencies

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of specialized training in communications or a related field
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
