At Advantage Behavioral Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Admissions Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our admissions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of care and support.
Job Summary:The Admissions Specialist will be responsible for facilitating the admissions process for new clients, collaborating with the Admissions Manager to determine financial and clinical eligibility, and ensuring that all clients who are not eligible for admission are referred to a partnering treatment center.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate the admissions process for new clients, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Collaborate with the Admissions Manager to determine financial and clinical eligibility for incoming admissions.
- Ensure that all clients who are not eligible for admission are referred to a partnering treatment center.
- Screen clients according to criteria set forth by the company and reject or accept clients appropriately.
- Coordinate with Medical, Clinical, and Operations departments to facilitate admissions.
- Coordinate the referral and intake process with the appropriate staff.
- Assess the appropriate level of care based on pre-screen assessment and stated need and insurance.
- Execute follow-up procedures for all non-converted admissions and referrals.
- Maintain communication with Outreach Coordinators for appropriate referral targets.
- Maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients, and staff.
- Assist with training new Admissions Coordinators and Patient Access Coordinators.
- Assist with Admissions/Outreach data management, including bed-board and referral spreadsheets.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Be available for on-call/after-hours phone coverage and be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- 2-4 years' experience in a healthcare setting, with demonstrated experience in customer service, operations, staffing, and teamwork preferred.
- Working knowledge of Drug & Alcohol Treatment.
- Computer literate: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
- Current CPR Certification and Narcan Certification required.
