Job Title: Special Education Teacher

YES Prep Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality education to students with diverse learning needs.

About the Role

As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure seamless progress and growth
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making adjustments to IEPs as needed
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
  • Texas Educator Certification, (Standard or Intern Certification), or ability to become certified within first year of teaching
  • Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology
  • Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once
