Job Opportunity: General Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced general carpenter to join our team at Dowbuilt. As a general carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to residential construction, including framing, siding, window and door installation, and hardware preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general carpentry tasks, including framing, siding, window and door installation, and hardware preparation
  • Establish and maintain work task deadlines with the superintendent or foreman
  • Support subcontractors as directed by the superintendent or foreman
  • Work well and coordinate with other team members
  • Identify and report unsafe practices to the foreman or superintendent

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of high-end residential carpentry experience
  • Broad range of rough carpentry skills from framing up to finish work
  • Working with full complement of basic tools and specialty tools
  • Laying out and setting concrete forms
  • Reading and interpreting architectural drawings
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather
  • Estimating and communicating small material needs to superintendent or foreman
  • Familiarity with a variety of building materials
  • Knowledge of safety and health procedures for location
  • Knowledge of proper use of tools and equipment
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to anticipate and troubleshoot problems
  • Ability to follow direction and perform work as designated
  • Motivation, dependability, and trustworthiness
  • U.S. work authorization

The compensation range for this position is $37.00 per hour.
