We offer over 180 integrated programs spanning various sectors, including Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Employment Training, Health Services, Housing, and Legal Assistance. Our reach extends to more than 73,000 individuals and families, including nearly 13,000 youth, reflecting our commitment to serving a diverse array of New Yorkers, including many immigrants and refugees. A significant portion of our clientele, over 85%, faces poverty, highlighting the pressing challenges experienced by approximately 1.7 million residents.
Role Summary: The Recreational Aide plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in supportive housing environments. This position involves engaging clients in various recreational and educational activities designed to promote well-being and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients while adhering to confidentiality regulations.
- Assist in delivering physical education, arts and crafts, performing arts, music, sports, and other recreational programs.
- Organize and co-facilitate community group activities to foster social interaction.
- Monitor and document the use of equipment and supplies.
- Track client progress towards personal goals.
- Promote the program to attract new participants.
- Help plan and coordinate social and peer support events for clients.
- Provide necessary information for regular reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in developing and coordinating recreational activities that support clients in leading independent and sober lives, preferably within a non-profit or similar organization.
Compensation: The annual salary for this position is $36,000. The offered salary may vary based on individual qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
Employment Status: This is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours of work per week.
