Job Summary

The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Veterinarian to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will provide high-quality, practical veterinary care to a wide range of outpatients and inpatients, while also mentoring and supervising interns and externs.

Responsibilities
  • Manage medical cases, including providing high-quality, practical veterinary care to outpatients and inpatients, and performing general procedures, routine and emergency surgery, and high-volume dentistry.
  • Provide in-house veterinary coverage, including overseeing admission of patients, recommending treatment plans, and providing inpatient care.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide medical information and hospital representation to the public and media.
  • Supervise and mentor interns and externs, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in their roles.
Requirements
  • DVM degree (or equivalent) with NY State veterinary license.
  • Minimum 3 years small animal medicine experience without internship.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and make decisions quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise information to clients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and serving underserved communities.
