About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Veterinary Ultrasound Specialist to join our team at Veterinary Emergency Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the growth and development of our emergency veterinary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound studies and provide expert interpretation and guidance to our emergency doctors and nurses.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive ultrasound training programs for our veterinary staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide top-notch patient care.
  • Collaborate with our medical directors, VNDCs, and director of radiology education to design and implement effective training protocols and schedules.
  • Work closely with our hospital manager and medical director to ensure seamless implementation of new training protocols and address any interpersonal concerns.
  • Coordinate weekly schedules with our hospital manager and medical director to balance on-the-floor shifts and training responsibilities.
  • Develop and deliver educational content, including PowerPoints, videos, simulations, and assessments, to support our doctor and nursing team training programs.
  • Provide educational demonstrations for doctors and nurses at other VEG locations, focusing on various ultrasound topics such as abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, cervical, and musculoskeletal studies.
Requirements
  • Full-time employment with Veterinary Emergency Group, offering a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K with company match, health, vision, and dental insurance, paid parental leave, and unlimited continuing education opportunities.
  • At least 3 years of experience in veterinary ultrasound, with a strong background in training and development.
  • Credentials as a veterinary technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate others, as well as provide and receive feedback from colleagues.
  • A positive and friendly personality, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • The ability to adapt to changing environments and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A passion for learning and growing as a sonographer, with a desire to continue developing personal skills and knowledge.
  • Comfort with travel to regional hospitals and off-site training facilities.
