The Senior Vice President of Aggregate Operations position is situated in Irving, TX, reporting directly to the Region President of the Southwest Region.
This role is a pivotal part of the executive leadership team, responsible for steering safety and operational excellence across Heidelberg Materials' aggregate operations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
The Senior Vice President will implement the strategic vision of the company, focusing on enhancing revenue growth, profitability, workforce development, and operational expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the execution of the strategic plan to foster a culture of safety, sustainability, digital innovation, talent development, and organizational growth.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and logistics teams, along with other departments, to achieve annual performance targets and long-term strategic goals.
- Oversee plant operations and mobile equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency, quality standards, service excellence, and resource management.
- Develop and implement tactical and strategic initiatives aimed at achieving consistent and sustainable operational results, including production, mine planning, maintenance, and key performance indicators.
- Proactively identify and execute short and long-term capital investment projects.
- Assess potential acquisition and merger opportunities, managing both internal and external resources to expand the organization’s footprint.
- Enhance and refine operational procedures, policies, and standards to improve efficiency.
- Analyze activity reports and financial documents to monitor progress towards objectives, adjusting plans as necessary based on current conditions.
- Evaluate management performance against established policies and objectives, mentoring staff to build a strong leadership pipeline.
- Represent the organization at legislative sessions, committee meetings, and other relevant functions at the state and local levels.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, with a proven track record in management roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial management, including P&L statements, budgeting, and the impact of volume, pricing, and costs.
- Extensive knowledge of the aggregates sector, including customer relations, competitive landscape, product offerings, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with digital transformation and sustainability initiatives within the construction materials sector.
- Demonstrated success in safety management, employee development, change leadership, and team building.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- An MBA or additional postgraduate education, training, or certifications.
- A strong professional network within the industry, including connections with trade associations.
Experience in aggregates, hot-mix asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and road construction is highly desirable.
This role primarily operates in a professional office environment but also requires engagement at manufacturing sites and job locations, where conditions may include moving machinery, variable weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
