Position Overview:
The Law Enforcement Operations Supervisor is tasked with providing leadership and strategic oversight for a certified law enforcement team and armed security personnel. This role encompasses the planning, coordination, and scheduling of activities related to crime prevention, patrol, traffic management, and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operations of law enforcement programs and personnel.
- Organize and oversee training sessions for staff, ensuring adherence to established standards and practices.
- Communicate policy directives effectively to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Assist in the formulation of departmental goals and ensure proper dissemination of information to team members.
- Supervise ongoing investigations and compile relevant statistical reports.
- Attend meetings to provide updates on investigations and address inquiries related to public safety initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Travel Requirements:
In-state travel may be necessary, and the position requires the carrying and use of a firearm.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of law enforcement management principles.
- Familiarity with criminal laws and departmental policies.
- Proficiency in investigative techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competence in using law enforcement-related computer programs.
- Ability to supervise and train staff effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field, along with three years of relevant law enforcement experience, including two years in a supervisory role. Certification as a Police Officer is required.
Licenses:
Must be certified as a Law Enforcement Officer and possess a valid driver's license.
