JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to execute the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department in alignment with existing federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility. This role is essential to ensure that our environment is kept clean, safe, and comfortable for all residents.

WORK SCHEDULE: Must be available to work every other weekend, with a compensation rate of $12.50/hr.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere to established cleaning schedules as closely as possible.
  2. Report any accidents or incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity.
  3. Coordinate daily cleaning tasks with nursing staff when performing routine cleaning in resident areas.
  4. Sanitize and polish various fixtures, including heating/cooling units and bathroom amenities.
  5. Maintain floors through sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
  6. Properly dispose of waste and ensure trash receptacles are lined appropriately.
  7. Maintain confidentiality regarding residents' protected health information and report any suspected violations.
  8. Follow safety protocols while performing tasks and using cleaning supplies.
  9. Utilize correct techniques for mixing cleaning chemicals and solutions, referring to manufacturer instructions as needed.
  10. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when handling hazardous materials.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To succeed in this role, an individual must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions regarding cleaning compounds and solutions.
  • Willingness to collaborate effectively with other staff and engage with residents appropriately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands of this position include:

  • Ability to move throughout the workday.
  • Capacity to manage the mental and emotional stresses associated with the role.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and a distance of 50 feet.
