About the Role

This position is responsible for coordinating various custodial job requests, assisting management with training and supervision of custodians, and performing routine cleaning tasks in college buildings.

Job Summary

An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty by coordinating the work of custodians. Work is distinguished by the ability to assist with cleaning projects. Direct supervision is received from the assigned manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist management in the coordination of custodial job requests and assign tasks to staff members.
  2. Provide guidance and training to new custodians on proper procedures and equipment use.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.
  4. Liaise with Operations & Maintenance department staff to ensure smooth operation of facilities events.
  5. Perform regular safety checks and report any hazards or issues to management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in custodial services, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods.
