Job Purpose

The Machine Technician will play a crucial role in supporting Matric Limited by understanding customer needs and their respective job duties. This individual will provide both technical and hands-on support to the manufacturing operation, ensuring the continuous quality of products and meeting production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain automation equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Monitor machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary to maintain quality standards.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance and make minor electrical and mechanical repairs, notifying Process Technicians when major service is required.
  • Maintain production rates according to established standards and determine the sequence of operations by studying blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
  • Establish and maintain maintenance logs for all equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance per manufacturers specifications or as requested.
  • Respond to requests by performing requested services in the areas of tracking, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

This position requires a strong understanding of automation equipment and manufacturing processes, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
