As a Community Support Counselor, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with Autism in developing, maintaining, or enhancing their social, communication, and travel skills through engaging recreational activities and community engagement.

Our Day Services are designed to support individuals who have transitioned from school-based programs, focusing on reinforcing essential life skills that enable them to thrive in their surroundings. We emphasize community involvement, teaching life skills, functional academics, and promoting volunteer opportunities alongside various sports and recreational pursuits.

This position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, including access to free portable training and certifications.

Qualifications:

  • **Possession of a Valid Driver's License and a High School Diploma/GED.

  • Attendance at orientation prior to commencing official duties is required. This paid training occurs at our main office.
  • Submission of a PPD test is necessary upon hiring.
  • Must be comfortable operating a 15-passenger van; a driving assessment will be conducted before starting.
  • Participation in additional training sessions within six months of employment (CPR, SCIP, AMAP) is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using technology on a daily basis (computer, email, phone, typing, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
