Job Title: Surgical Technician/Ophthalmic Technician I

Georgia Center for Sight is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician/Ophthalmic Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our ophthalmic practice, you will play a critical role in providing quality and compassionate care to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Support a high-volume ophthalmic practice with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Perform various tasks related to sterile processing, decontamination, and preparation of medical devices.
  • Conduct visual acuity tests, perform automated and manual refraction, and administer eye drops and irrigating solutions as ordered by physicians.
  • Enter data into our electronic medical record system and provide patient services.
  • Measure intraocular pressure and perform other clinical tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in ophthalmic surgical procedures.
  • Current BLS certification and completion of required annual in-services.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced surgery center environment with healthcare interactions that include patient contact, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease.
  • Manual dexterity, mobility, visual acuity, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Graduate from an accredited surgical technician and sterile processing program.
