Position Overview

The Healthcare Reception Specialist at Rome Memorial Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering administrative assistance to the medical staff and healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the reception area is well-organized and all front desk operations are functioning smoothly.
  • Coordinating and verifying patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to physicians.
  • Preparing medical documentation for upcoming patient visits, including charts, reports, and relevant correspondence.
  • Registering patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  • Exhibiting strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Email).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a receptionist role.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with general hospital and departmental policies.
  • Understanding of patient rights concerning privacy and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in software applications such as Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance authorization processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-up capabilities.
