Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is a critical role at Pactiv Evergreen Inc., responsible for ensuring the day-to-day availability and reliability of the facility and equipment. This position leads 24/7/365 maintenance activities to guarantee safe, effective, efficient, and continuous plant operation through proactive maintenance and reliability, risk analysis, and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to problems using the Process Interruption Rapid Response Process and keep plant management informed of special occurrences.
  • Ensure credibility of the maintenance functions by meeting committed downtimes, turning equipment over that functions properly, providing necessary information, and fostering a data-driven organization utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Conduct routine audits of maintenance execution work.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques, including Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), to solve problems to root cause, implement actions that prevent re-occurrence, and improve operations.
  • Direct the operation and maintenance of facility systems to provide uninterrupted service, including plant power, compressed air, vacuum, chill water, fire protection, and support energy conservation initiatives.
  • Drive a zero Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) incident culture, support and participate in incident investigations to determine root cause and identify preventive actions, correct unsafe conditions and acts immediately, and use every incident or near miss as a teaching moment for subordinates and others as necessary.
  • Oversee and support design and process changes, installations, troubleshooting, completing repairs, and providing data to improve maintenance and reliability processes.
  • Interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, specifications, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) ladder diagrams, and understand hydraulics, pneumatics, electric circuitry, electronics, and electromechanical concepts, both AC and DC.
  • Communicate status and lead times for critical downtime issues to unit managers and scheduling.
  • Ensure effective transitions between shifts.
  • Ensure parts needed are ordered and track for delivery.
  • Identify any training needed and develop training programs.
  • Provide maintenance resource support for plant shutdowns and startups.
  • Administer an air leak program for shift maintenance personnel.
  • Track and report issues trends and recurrences, work with engineering to devise adequate solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Maintenance or Industrial Technology or equivalent preferred.
  • Willing and able to work 7am-7pm on a 2-2-3 schedule.
  • Minimum ten years industrial maintenance experience.
  • Industrial facility systems experience, including power, compressed air, vacuum, chill water, fire protection, etc.
  • Supervisory experience: Highly developed human relation skills to lead, direct, motivate, and aid team members.
  • Maintenance knowledge, skills, and abilities in electrical, mechanical, and electronic disciplines.
  • PLC experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of predictive (PdM) maintenance techniques.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft applications, Outlook, SAP, Maintenance Connection, etc.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and National Electric Codes.
