The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of respiratory therapy services, including the management of life support systems, conducting arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and performing designated cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests as directed by the attending physician.
Compensation and Benefits
- New Hire Bonus: $13,000 (Evenings/Nights) / $8,000 (Days) for Full-Time/Part-Time Positions
- Internal Colleague Transition Bonus: $5,000 for Evening/Night Shifts
- Enhanced Shift Differentials
- Tuition Loan Repayment: Up to $9,000 ($3,000/year)
- Weekend Rotation: Day shift every 6th weekend; Night shift every 5th weekend.
Work Environment
Join a collaborative team in a mid-sized healthcare facility that provides extensive clinical opportunities in Respiratory Therapy. Engage in patient-centered, therapist-driven protocols while managing ventilators, non-invasive ventilation, pulmonary medication delivery, and various modalities of secretion clearance and oxygen therapy.
Career Development
We offer pathways for Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) to advance to Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) and opportunities for RT students to progress to RRT.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Must be registered as a Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care and possess a valid license from the State Health Professional Bureau.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
Required Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, RRT
Key Responsibilities
- Execute assigned tasks with a positive attitude that aligns with the hospital's mission.
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient-related information.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and in-service training.
- Conduct all respiratory care procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Administer emergency respiratory care and critical care procedures effectively.
- Perform 12-lead electrocardiograms accurately.
- Actively participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues and uphold excellent public relations with patients and their families.
- Document patient treatment data meticulously in departmental records.
- Contribute to the education and professional growth of department staff.
