Job SummaryThe Direct Support Professional will provide support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dining skills, and social skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities- Facilitate daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dining skills, and social skills
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Aid in mobility and assist with meal service
- Administer medications and treatments according to company policy
- Participate in in-service training sessions and attend team meetings
- Complete data collection, observation notes, and daily reports as directed by agency policy and procedure
- A high school education or its equivalent is preferred
- Some previous experience in supporting/assisting those with disabilities is preferred
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
