About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Transformer Winding Specialist to join our team at Myers Emergency Power Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for winding transformers using semi-automatic winding equipment and may include electrical testing of transformers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Insulating coils and securing with adhesive tape.
  • Inserting fiber wedges between coils and cores, using a mallet to secure the coil around the leg of the transformer core.
  • Crimping leads to magnet wire.
  • Crimping tags to lead wires to conform with wiring diagrams.
  • Assembling support structures, clamping angles, terminals, tanks, or cabinet panels.
  • Brazing coil leads to specified tanks of terminal strips.
  • Fabricating coils and assembling component parts to build electric power, distribution, or specialty transformers according to blueprints and wiring instructions.
  • Winding copper wire around jigs, fixtures, or spindles to form primary coils.
  • Fabricating secondary coils on copper plates of specified thickness.
  • Varnishing dipped transformers.
  • Cleaning and ink-stamping part numbers and date codes.
  • HI pot testing transformers and checking for continuity.

Requirements:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and up to three months of related experience or training. The ideal candidate should have strong mathematical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $70,000 per year based on location and experience.
