Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Leader to join our team at Brevard County. As a Recreation Leader, you will be responsible for organizing, supervising, and coordinating recreational programs and activities at one of our County recreational areas or facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement recreational programs and activities for diverse age groups and interests
  • Supervise and coordinate program staff and volunteers to ensure successful program delivery
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to promote program participation and engagement
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and logistics to ensure efficient and effective program delivery
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to promote program participation and engagement
Requirements
  • One year of paid or volunteer experience in leisure activities
  • Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
  • Experience utilizing personal computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and Vermont Systems Rec-Trac, is preferred
Special Requirements
  • Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment
  • The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level I background criminal background investigation, performed in accordance with Brevard County Administrative Order 5 (AO-5), discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5)
  • In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed
Physical Requirements
