Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the care team to ensure consistency and quality of care, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
- Under the supervision of a registered nurse, coordinate patient care activities, including patient education, and assume the role of care coordinator for uncomplicated patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including determining patient and family needs, identifying goals, and developing and implementing plans to meet those goals.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
- Collaborate with physicians, care management specialists, and other healthcare providers to carry out the nursing process.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Temporary authorization to practice as a graduate nurse under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, as required by law, regulation, or policy.
- Licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities and dealing with stresses associated with patient care.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
- Excellent clinical judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to provide comprehensive care and formulate and document care plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
