POSITION SUMMARY: The Educational Support Facilitator plays a crucial role in providing academic assistance through the supervision and guidance of students engaged in credit recovery programs. This position involves planning and executing assigned tasks for students outside of categorical programs, alongside performing essential clerical duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience Required: Prior job-related experience, whether paid or volunteer, with school-aged children.
  • Education Required: An associate's degree or higher, or completion of at least two years of study at an accredited institution (72 college quarter hours or more), or demonstrated knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics through a formal assessment.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance and First Aid/CPR certification.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Understanding of child development principles and instructional methodologies.
  • Proficiency in operating standard office equipment and various computer applications.
  • Ability to perform basic clerical tasks and arithmetic calculations.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Quickly learn diverse instructional methods and materials.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience interacting with individuals from various age groups and cultural backgrounds.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with program administrators to provide guidance and support.
  • Work as part of a team to assist students in assessments and curriculum, monitor interactions, and promote safe behaviors.
  • Provide instructional support and tutoring in various group settings.
  • Perform record-keeping and clerical tasks to support teachers.
  • Confer with educators to provide feedback on student performance.
  • Encourage positive interpersonal relationships among students.
  • Ensure student safety by applying district management and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor student activities to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies appropriately.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in various school functions as needed.
  • Maintain classroom materials and student records.
  • Administer first aid and medical assistance as required.
  • Engage with teachers, parents, and community personnel to evaluate student progress.
  • Participate in meetings for skill enhancement and information sharing.
