Job Summary

CorrHealth is seeking a skilled Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide education, counseling, and treatment to clients identified with substance abuse issues.

Key Responsibilities
✓ Develop and maintain all clinical records
✓ Deliver the Matrix Model of treatment and MRT
✓ Provide one-on-one counseling with clients using Evidence Based Practices
✓ Facilitate/lead therapeutic group sessions
✓ Create curriculum for use in group sessions
✓ Collaborate with other agencies to ensure access to resources for patients
✓ Retain working relationships with organizations, service providers, and other agencies
✓ Work collaboratively with mental health clinicians and the discharge planner in identifying detainees with substance abuse issues
✓ Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Requirements
✓ Holds a bachelor's degree in a Mental Health or Criminal Justice field
✓ Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with alcohol and/or drug addicted individuals and/or in the field of substance abuse counseling with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in OP treatment
✓ Experience with diverse client population such as cultural and/or religious minorities, co-occurring disorders, and indigent socio-economically disadvantaged patients
✓ Significant experience and familiarity with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in conjunction with treatment programs and with 12-step philosophy, as well as other non-traditional self-help treatment programs

Work Environment
Work is performed inside a correctional facility. Employees are exposed to some level of risk and/or harm by inmates including exposure to blood borne pathogens. Employee is expected to work in accordance with all security rules and regulations to minimize the risk of danger and/or harm to themselves or other employees.
