Job Title: PT / Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC or CADC)

Location: Bernalillo

Schedule: 24hrs/weekly

Pay range: $21-25/hr

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC or CADC) to join our team at CorrHealth. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide education, counseling, and treatment to clients identified with substance abuse issues.

Job Summary:

The LADC is responsible for developing and maintaining all clinical records, delivering the Matrix Model of treatment and MRT, providing one-on-one counseling with clients using Evidence Based Practices, facilitating/leading therapeutic group sessions, creating curriculum for use in group sessions, collaborating with other agencies to ensure access to resources for patients, retaining working relationships with organizations, service providers, and other agencies, and working collaboratively with mental health clinicians and the discharge planner in identifying detainees with substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain all clinical records
  • Deliver the Matrix Model of treatment and MRT
  • Provide one-on-one counseling with clients using Evidence Based Practices
  • Facilitate/lead therapeutic group sessions
  • Create curriculum for use in group sessions
  • Collaborate with other agencies to ensure access to resources for patients
  • Retain working relationships with organizations, service providers, and other agencies
  • Work collaboratively with mental health clinicians and the discharge planner in identifying detainees with substance abuse issues
Requirements:
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in a Mental Health or Criminal Justice field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with alcohol and/or drug addicted individuals and/or in the field of substance abuse counseling with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in OP treatment
  • Experience with diverse client population such as cultural and/or religious minorities, co-occurring disorders, and indigent socio-economically disadvantaged patients
  • Significant experience and familiarity with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in conjunction with treatment programs and with 12-step philosophy, as well as other non-traditional self-help treatment programs

  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication with all coworkers, supervisors, jail administration, and patients
  • Excellent verbal and written comprehension
  • Excellent deductive reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills; independent worker and self-starter
  • Ability to use a computer and use/learn a variety of software, including site-specific computer programs
  • Must demonstrate ability to appropriately and safely use standard medical equipment
  • Ability to respect the dignity and confidentiality of inmates
  • Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service
Employment Requirements:
  • Must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc. for this position
  • Must have current CPR/BLS certification
  • Must have current TB test (taken within one year)
  • Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures as well as the policies and procedures listed in the Employee Handbook
  • Willing to assist coworkers in the job duties and work overtime if required; may act as a resource to other coworkers
  • Maintains confidentiality, dignity, and security of health records and protected health information in compliance with HIPAA requirements
Security Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test (as applicable)
  • Must obtain and maintain security clearance with the client/facility as a requisite for initial and/or continued employment
  • Must undergo security training and orientation on facility safety policies and procedures
Work Environment:

Work is performed inside a correctional facility. Employees are exposed to some level of risk and/or harm by inmates including exposure to blood borne pathogens. Employee is expected to work in accordance with all security rules and regulations to minimize the risk of danger and/or harm to themselves or other employees.
