Position Overview
Martin/Martin Consulting Engineers is in search of a skilled structural engineer to enhance our team. This role offers the chance to engage in structural design for a variety of projects across different sectors including healthcare, commercial, sports, and residential.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment in the assessment, selection, and application of standard structural design methodologies and practices. The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality control by reviewing calculations and documentation, while also adhering to project timelines and budget constraints. This position entails managing projects from initial design phases through to construction, fostering strong relationships with clients through effective communication and high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical staff to create high-quality project documentation utilizing advanced design and graphics software.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff regarding career growth, design methodologies, software, and regulatory inquiries.
- Develop, oversee, and manage project work plans, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Establish enduring relationships with clients through project execution and business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Proven ability to take responsible charge of engineering projects.
- A minimum of 12 months experience as a Professional Engineer and 6 years of progressive engineering experience (advanced degrees may count towards experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple projects from design inception to construction completion.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and team members.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Active participation in at least one professional or technical organization.
- Willingness to accept additional responsibilities and tasks.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Professional Engineer with successful completion of the structural engineering exam.
