Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Department at OSF HealthCare is seeking a skilled Health Information Management Systems Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our support group, you will play a vital role in educating HIMS support staff on the proper use of the Epic Electronic Medical Record System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver training programs for HIMS support staff on the Epic Electronic Medical Record System
- Provide one-on-one training and support to staff members as needed
- Collaborate with the HIMS team to ensure seamless integration of new staff members
- Stay up-to-date on system updates and changes, and communicate these to the team
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of computer experience, including Excel and other Microsoft applications, in a professional or educational setting
- 2 years of training experience in small and large group settings
- Typing skills at a professional level
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing department
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking skills, data entry, proofreading, and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of healthcare experience
- Knowledge of Medical & Surgical Terminology, as well as a working knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 Coding
- Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record laws
