We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Project Manager to join our team at WSP USA. Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing project plans, schedules, and monitoring of building construction, repair, and rehabilitation projects.
- Provide assistance in tracking, monitoring, researching validity and compliance with Contract documents for all work from inception to final closure.
- Communicate with Contractors and project team members.
- Manage RFI's, change orders, contract document review, shop drawings, submittals/approvals, and other technical matters.
- Assist in managing forecast and cost scheduling.
- Assist in managing change orders review and the review of payments.
- Manage project contract documents, codes, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in managing field memorandums and field directives.
- Assist PM or EIC with payment application review, writing minutes of project meetings, preparing regular reports, field inspections as required, and other duties related to construction site activities.
- Review contract claims and advise senior management.
- Travel throughout the region may be required, and a valid driver's license is necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in a relevant field.
- Two years of professional experience in construction planning, cost estimating, project scheduling, resource management, and construction document reading and interpretation.
- 35 years minimum experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects valued above $10 million, with knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the role of Assistant Project Manager responsible for large-scale projects valued above $10 million with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
- Strong Civil Engineering background with experience of inspection requirements for various trades.
- Have a full working knowledge of the change order and cost review process and the review/approval of contractor's payment application.
- Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows/Outlook/Word/Excel and scheduling applications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Occasional travel within the region may be required.
- Proven ability to adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. A copy of the client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.
- Civil project background is preferred.
