Position Overview

As a Quality Assurance Specialist at Invacare, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of our products. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of quality assurance tasks aimed at maintaining high standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections utilizing established protocols to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Execute incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, documentation, service components, and finished products.
  • Compile and organize inspection data into tracking systems for analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze quality data and present key performance indicators to management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Oversee the calibration system and perform calibration tasks, including:
    • Scheduling and executing calibration of manufacturing and quality assurance equipment.
    • Collaborating with external vendors for calibration and repair services.
    • Reviewing calibration documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain comprehensive quality records, including training materials, drawings, procedures, work instructions, and device history records.
  • Manage the plant training matrix and coordinate training sessions on quality-related topics.
  • Ensure the maintenance of audit checklists and production records to verify critical quality attributes.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings to address nonconforming materials.
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints to identify root causes and complete necessary workflows.
  • Adhere strictly to Quality Systems standards and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to achieving safety objectives.
  • Propose and actively engage in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize the use of time, energy, and resources to meet production goals.
  • Uphold housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
  • Complete all required training relevant to the position.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, adaptability, creativity, and a readiness to take on new responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations, including arithmetic, fractions, algebra, statistics, and geometry.
  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints, bills of materials, drawings, specifications, and instructions.
  • Familiarity with basic measuring instruments.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to generate reports and analyze data.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) and ISO standards.
