Responsibilities
  • Perform welding and repair tasks on compactors, containers, and other equipment
  • Conduct safety checks and inspections on equipment and machinery
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Assist in ensuring the operations floor is clear of obstacles and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Work with other plant personnel to ensure efficient and effective operations
Requirements
  • Experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing equipment
  • Skill in operating tools and equipment used during the repair and servicing of equipment
  • Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans and drawings
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
  • Must be able to see details at close range
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials
