We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Child Psychologist to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a key member of our Behavioral and Mental Health Center, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents experiencing serious mental illness with psychosis.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective delivery of services, including psychological assessments, consultation, and therapy, to patients with specific needs and severity levels of disability or impairment.
- Develop and implement assessment standards and treatment plans that support established goals, while integrating infection control and body substance precautions, patient safety, body mechanics, and knowledge of growth and development.
- Document weekly/monthly treatment notes and assessment reports following established standards, and complete discharge and follow-up according to departmental standards.
- Communicate relevant information at the patient/family level of understanding, and identify patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provide follow-up and referral as necessary.
- Provide clinical supervision to fellows, interns, psychometrists, students, and other employees as assigned, and support and participate in continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided.
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA/CPA accredited program, with completion of an APA accredited child internship.
- Expertise in treating children and adolescents using evidence-based treatment approaches, with a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis, Family-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Psychosis.
- Four years of experience in direct assessment and care of pediatric patients in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting, with experience in conducting clinical supervision.
- Georgia licensed psychologist, with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Experience in providing family therapy/counseling, and experience in writing and research.
