Job Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of the Southernmost Beach Resort team, responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Hiring
    • Coordinate the recruitment process for hourly positions, ensuring timely and accurate completion of paperwork.
    • Conduct prescreening interviews and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Administer insurance benefits, explain benefits to employees, and assist with enrollment forms.
    • Audit hours worked in payroll reports for eligibility of benefits.
  • HR Operations
    • Maintain new hire, termination, and transfer and promotion logbooks.
    • Monitor and maintain Leave of Absence log and Workman's Compensation claims.
  • Employee Engagement
    • Assist in Orientation, explain benefits, and conduct tours of the property.
    • Write articles and take pictures for the property newsletter.
    • Assist with special projects, plan employee events, and provide support for employee housing as needed.
  • General HR Duties
    • Enter payroll information on the computer, including wage information and changes.
    • Compile wage surveys and maintain complimentary room night logs.
    • Prepare and place recruitment advertising and process paperwork for terminating employees.
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry.
      • Previous supervisory responsibility required.
    • Skills and Qualifications
      • Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws.
      • College course work in a related field helpful.
    • Physical Requirements
      • Long hours sometimes required.
      • Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
    • General Requirements
      • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
      • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests.
      • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
