Key Responsibilities- Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients, allay their fear, and elicit cooperation.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining specimens, attaching vital sign equipment, and positioning the patient.
- Assist physician and nursing personnel during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including handling instruments and equipment, calling out equipment readings, and handling specimens while maintaining infection control standards.
- Manually clean endoscopes and perform high-level disinfection.
- Distribute supplies as needed and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Assist nurse with transporting patients into the procedure room and to recovery after the procedure.
- Obtain family members from the waiting room once the patient is in recovery, assist patients to the restroom when needed, and obtain refreshments for patients.
- Clean and dress stretchers in preparation for the next patient.
- Clean procedure rooms, including procedural tables, countertops, floor mats, and wall suction systems.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or successful completion of the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification exam.
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Some roles within our organization may encompass essential job functions requiring distinct physical and/or mental capabilities.
