UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician - Chemistry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex testing in chemistry and hematology, as well as supporting functions such as specimen processing and phlebotomy.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures in chemistry and hematology, including but not limited to, blood counts, chemistry profiles, and coagulation studies.
  • Process and analyze laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
  • Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • Education: Must have obtained a degree in a related field, such as medical technology or a related science.
  • Certification: Must be eligible to take an appropriate registry examination (ASCP, NCA, or equivalent) within one year of employment.
  • Experience: Previous laboratory experience is preferred, but not required.
