We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to serve as the Market House Supervisor & Float Pool Manager at Sovah Health - Danville. This is a leadership role that requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to the Market House and Float Pool teams, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operations.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Coordinate staffing and bed control meetings to facilitate patient throughput and appropriate patient placement.
- Work with Director/Clinical Managers to ensure daily staffing needs are met for all nursing departments providing patient care.
- Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Ensure that staff meet necessary educational, certification, and license requirements of their position.
- Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, and ensure that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.
- Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Graduate of a Program in Professional Nursing.
- Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State.
- Minimum of five (5) years of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Bachelor of Science degree, preferred.
- Masters degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration, preferred.
- Three (3) years of leadership experience, preferred.
Sovah Health - Danville is a 250-bed hospital with the region's only designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We are an academic teaching site for residents, medical students, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and physician assistants.
