Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at one of our top healthcare facilities in Lexington, Kentucky.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with the medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

About the Role

This is a 13-week contract position, requiring the nurse to work 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts, nights.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 18 months of recent experience in an Acute Care CVICU setting and possess active RN licensure, BLS & ACLS certifications, and a degree from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and monitor vital signs, alerting doctors to any major changes in patient condition.
  • Act as a liaison between doctors and patients, ensuring each patient receives optimal care and comfort.

The CVICU nurse will also be responsible for daily care, including administering care for patients following open-heart surgery, treating heart transplant patients, and educating the patient's family on ongoing needs and care.
