Automation Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at Selectek. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation solutions for industrial oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform automation and controls design evaluations and work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints
• Review policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
• Provide technical design and troubleshooting support
• Prioritize and accomplish project goals
• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of each job
• Use computer-assisted design/drafting software to develop control enclosure designs
• Prepare preliminary design proposal(s), engineering design, and supporting documentation
• Perform PLC, HMI, and simulator programming that will meet all project acceptance criteria
• Participate in engineering and general design reviews as required
• Refine and complete designs after design review meetings
• Interact and coordinate with designers to develop and complete designs
• Interact with clients and vendors
• Take initiative to identify and correct potential design flaws and identify potential risks or engineering design impacts for the project
• Participate in and lead bid walk-down meetings
• Provide on-site construction and commissioning support
• Interact with vendors to specify and/or troubleshoot equipment

Requirements:

• BSEE from an accredited university
• 3 plus years of experience with automation and controls design
• AutoCAD design experience
• Proficient in various PLC and HMI software packages
• Travel up to 50% throughout the US

Preferred:

• AutoCAD Electrical design experience
• Experience with Rockwell and GE PLC and HMI programming software packages are preferred
• EIT

Pay: $37-$42/hr.
